-Monitor functional operation of vehicles and collaborates with Engineering Service to assure that maintenance schedules are followed and incidental repairs are made (i.e. oil changes, tire rotation, etc.) -Reports safety hazards and independently resolves problems consistent with previous training. Monitors weather and road conditions to determine safe short and long distance transport routes. -Communicates with ICVAHCS inpatient care and outpatient area, transportation assistant, or other health care agency as necessary to determine the appropriate time to transport patient to their facility for specific appointments or final destination. -Completes the shuttle schedule, daily log and/or other reports as assigned.-He/she will learn the necessary duties for processing payment vouchers for beneficiary travel and/or other duties of a transportation assistant as designated by the supervisor. -Incumbent must possess computer skill necessary to send email messages and input purchase order requests (2237's) to be assigned and ordered by the Mobility Manager. They must also possess the ability to operate computer equipment to perform administrative duties. -Incumbent will assist the Travel Office performing various administrative duties as assigned when not transporting patients. -They also serve as the back-up MVO to shuttle patients to the University of Iowa or Specialty Clinics during the absence of the regular MVO .-Ability to utilize GPS for navigational purposes is also required. -The incumbent may be required to work outside of normal working hours and regular tour of duty will be required. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
The incumbent must be able to assist patients in loading and unloading from shuttle vans. Incumbent must be able to stoop, bend, climb and lift in excess of 50 pounds. There is considerable strenuous effort exerted in performing these duties. The incumbent must be able to change tires in an emergent situation. Tire/rim combination may be in excess of 50 pounds. Employee is often required to assist and lift and transport patients weighing in excess of 250 pounds. Employee experiences a variety of working positions, e.g. stooping, bending, kneeling, etc., along with a variety of other fatigue-producing factors. Employee is required to work indoors and outdoors experiencing a variety of weather conditions. Employee is exposed to heat, cold, dust, rain, etc. The employee is also at possible risk due to direct patient contact while caring for and transporting patients. The incumbent may be required to work outside of normal working hours and regular tour of duty will be required in order to meet patient needs.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
