Program Specialist

Some of the duties and responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to):
Responsible for assessing, coordinating, and managing research staffing needs for the biomedical, clinical, and rehabilitation research programs Works with all supervisors and principal investigators in the Research and Development service to determine performance standards and ensure mid-point evaluations and performance appraisals are completed for all employees each year Completing the documentation required for Intergovernmental Personnel Agreement's (IPA's) Responsible for the coordination and processing of Without Compensation (WOC) Employees in the Research and Development Service Serves as an Automated Data Processing Applications Coordinator (ADPAC) and provides user account support to include set-up and configuration (e.g., user profile, e-mail, printer access, remote access), and troubleshoots user account problems Provides oversight and management of the records information life cycle which includes collection (collect and retrieve), maintenance (use, file and access), release (disclosure and distribution), amendment, and disposition (destruction, sanitization and transfer) Responsible for ensuring all policies and standard operating procedures are kept up-to-date and meet current federal regulations Responsible for ensuring all individuals involved in animal, safety and human subjects research meet requirements that are set and have received the necessary training to perform the research Responsible for maintaining and updating the ICVAHCS Research and Development Service website as well as develop and maintain a monthly newsletter Perform other related duties as assigned Work Schedule:

Experience:
Possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in federal service. As this position is responsible for assessing, coordinating, and managing research staffing needs for the biomedical, clinical, and rehabilitation research programs at a medical center, experience in a medical research setting is preferred. Specific qualifying specialized experience for this position (which should be documented on your resume) is:
processing new hire/new appointment paperwork and resignations; writing position/job descriptions; maintaining an accurate inventory of administrative records; and providing training on research techniques and policies for Principal Investigators and other research staff members. Successfully completed one of the following:
(a) Master's or equivalent graduate degree; (b) two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or (c) an LL.B. or J.D., if related to this position. NOTE TO APPLICANTS:
One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent one year of full-time study; if that number cannot be obtained from the transcript, 18 semester hours will be considered as one full academic year of graduate study. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
