Provide Cardiology consultative and continuity care services at underserved or understaffed ICVA facilities through a combination of virtual and in-person careCardiologists are responsible for providing consultation and continuing care for various forms of cardiovascular disease states, both for diagnosis and treatment in the inpatient and outpatient settings and by telehealthParticipate in the expanded use of clinical video telehealth (VVC and CVT)/electronic consultation (e-Consult) to improve access to cardiology careParticipate in the referral management process for cardiology consults Provide cardiology consultation to other health care providers, (nurse practitioners/physician assistants, medical students, and residents/fellows)Incumbent is expected to provide comprehensive patient care in the form of non-invasive, consultative, and inpatient/outpatient cardiology careExpertise in the interpretation of EKGs, Holter monitors, stress test interpretation, tilt testing, non-invasive ICD stimulation, pacer and ICD evaluation and programming, as appropriate to the telehealth setting, are requiredInterventional procedures including but not limited to all forms of coronary interventions (coronary thrombectomy, atherectomy, stent placement, intravascular lithotripsy, intracoronary ultrasound, fractional flow reserve assessment) as well as Central venous line insertion and management, intra-arterial line insertion and management, cardioversion, and moderate sedation privileges and fluoroscopy privileges are requiredThe physician is responsible for recognizing patients appropriate for referral or consultationThe physician will be developing a clinic to assess, evaluate and plan in treatment of patients with need for structural heart procedures including left atrial appendage occlusion as well as transcatheter valvar proceduresClinical activities may include, but are not limited to, clinical assessment and evaluation of Inpatients and OutpatientsHealth care management of assigned Veteran patients with acute and chronic illnessesOrdering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic studiesConsultation and referrals; Inpatients and OutpatientsPatient follow-up, as appropriateHealth promotion and disease preventionPatient, family, and staff education and counselingOutpatient Clinics for general and subspecialty Cardiology PatientsCardiologists evaluate the patient to assess changes in the physical status during inpatient or outpatient care via in-person exams or telemedicine careDocumentation of every encounter will be entered into the electronic medical record, with the appropriate level of detail, with an assessment and plan for ongoing careAny notes written by the fellow, resident, student, or midlevel provider under Cardiology supervision are reviewed by the staff Cardiologist, with corrections and additions added in an attending note, as appropriate and in a mannerVA offers a comprehensive total rewards packageVHA Physician Total RewardsPay:
