About the Role:
As the Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Downtown Iowa City Ambassadors program.
You will lead a team of dedicated ambassadors who are committed to providing assistance, information, and a friendly presence to residents, visitors, and businesses in downtown Iowa City.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing and supervising the ambassador team to ensure the highest standards of service delivery.
Collaborating with city officials, the Downtown District, and Block by Block to implement program objectives and initiatives.
Overseeing cleaning, maintenance, and hospitality services in the downtown area, including litter and debris removal, power washing, graffiti abatement, and hospitality wayfinding.
Providing after-hours escorts and ensuring the safety and cleanliness of downtown streets, pedestrian rights of way, and parking garages.
Building strong relationships with stakeholders, community members, and local businesses to enhance the downtown experience.
Qualifications:
Previous experience ( 5+) in operations management, preferably in a similar urban maintenance or hospitality environment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a customer-focused mindset.
Proven track record of delivering high-quality service and achieving operational goals.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
