is looking to hire Custodians to work at the University of Iowa in Iowa City! The Custodian is responsible for providing a safe, clean, and healthy environment for University of Iowa students, staff, and visitors! Duties Include:
Performs cleaning in all areas of building Performs cleaning of floor areas (i.
e.
vacuuming, shampooing, sweeping, mopping, stripping, scrubbing, waxing, and buffing) Cleans and polished bathroom fixtures Cleans and washes glass surfaces, ceilings and walls Replaces light bulbs and cleans light fixtures Makes beds and handles both clean and soiled linens; refills holder of disposable items (i.
e.
soap, bathroom tissue, paper towels, etc.
) Reports breakage and needed repairs Collects trash throughout building Assist in unloading tracks, unpacking, assembling, and moving equipment Maintains inventory of linen Requirements:
High school diploma/GED knowledge of standard cleaning techniques Ability to move furniture and objects in preparation for cleaning, and ability to use ladder up to 12 feet Candidate will be subject to pre-employment background screening.
