Facilities Mechanic III
University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics department of Engineering Services, Plumbing Shop, is seeking a Facilities Mechanic III.
This position will be full-time with a primary schedule of 8:
00 a.
m.
to 4:
30 p.
m.
Monday-Friday including weekends and holidays as scheduled for on-call.
Performs skilled and semi-skilled work in the repairing, servicing, and maintaining of buildings and electrical, mechanical and plumbing equipment Inspects, maintains and makes operating repairs on electrical equipment and wiring, plumbing fixtures and pipe, heating, air conditioning and ventilating equipment Repair and maintain plumbing and fixtures (faucets, toilets, showers, sinks, drains and drain lines), plaster traps, grease traps, maintain centrifugal pumps and associated equipment Repair and maintain autoclave, sterilizing and related equipment Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all equipment Repair and maintain water heaters and water supply Additional duties as requiredMinimum Eligibility Requirements:
Must possess a basic knowledge of plumbing, electricity, maintenance of steam and mechanical equipmentAND Must have four years of work experience in the listed crafts, including apprenticeship or technical training.
At least two years of that experience must be in the same craft.

Qualifications:
Prefer previous experience with computers (Excel, Word) Prefer previous experience with large sewer rodders and experience soldering large pipes Prefer previous experience and ability to troubleshoot pumps Prefer previous experience and knowledge of State Plumbing Codes Prefer previous experience in Healthcare Facility OperationsApplication Process:
