1 Full-time 13 hours ago Full Job Description University of Iowa Dining is seeking applicants for the position of Operations Manager of Burge Market Place.
This important leadership position within University Dining will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the operations of Burge Market Place, a board contact food service unit.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Directing daily operations of Burge Market Place through supervisor support staff.
Planning and approving regular and special menus Overseeing food preparation and service.
Coordinating food services for conferences, workshops, seminars and special banquets.
Inventory control, including determining and initiating requisitions for food products and equipment as well as maintaining proper inventory controls.
Financial responsibility, including reviewing monthly financial statements, evaluating expenditures and using financial information to guide decision making.
Hiring, developing, and managing the performance of staff.
Actively participating in strategic planning for residential dining operations at the University of Iowa.

Qualifications:
Required
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Institutional Management, Nutrition, Dietetics or Hotel Restaurant and Institutional Management or an equivalent degree or an equivalent combination of education and supervisory experience is required.
Full-time experience (typically 1-3 years) in food service management.
Strong leadership and organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks, respond quickly and effectively to challenges.
Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively transmit, receive and accurately interpret ideas, information and needs through appropriate communication methods and behaviors at an extensive proficiency level Demonstrated extensive proficiency in the ability to work with variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and civil manner while appreciating the unique contribution of diverse individuals.
Experience in a large-scale food service operation Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) software.
Ability to obtain and maintain ServSafe certification.
Demonstrated extensive proficiency in the ability to provide excellent customer service and to meet or exceed customer service needs.
Desirable
Qualifications:
Experience (typically 1-3 years) managing financial resources for multi-million dollar operation.
Familiar with CBORD or similar management systems and automated timekeeping systems.
Comprehensive understanding of food preparation, methods, techniques and terminology used in food service operations.
Experience supervising a large number of entry level culinary and support staff.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
